about us

We're a little wacky, and a lot of fun!

We started Craft Connection because we believe that community and connection are essential ingredients in building a thriving, sustainable creative business in 2024.

why craft connection?

It started way, way back in 2023...

Jackie and Julie were each approached by Craft Nova Scotia to take part in a micro-credential course offered through NSCC called "The Business of Craft". The program was intended to teach craftspeople how to build a prosperous craft business.

We said yes, created our curriculum, and met with an incredible group of makers for 3 weeks on Zoom.

And let me tell ya, we had FUN!

Our teaching calls were scheduled for 60 minutes, but people were so engaged, they stayed late every week!

One week we stayed so late, that we cracked open a bottle of wine and had a great gab into the night.

We knew this was something our community desperately needed - a place to connect and laugh and share stories and knowledge.

It felt RIGHT.

Well, the micro-credential was ending, but we didn't want the fun to stop, so we immediately got to work figuring out a plan to take all the parts we loved from that program and open it up to any artisan/maker/craftsperson who is looking to get out of their own silo and into a collective of creatives where we can all dream and inspire and grow together!

*Cue the heartfelt music*

But seriously - we believe in the power of community and we have witnessed its ability to transform people AND businesses.

We truly want to build a space where artisans can find support, creativity, education &  empowerment, so they can build thriving, sustainable creative businesses that give back to the community.

(We call that a virtuous cycle)

So what are you waiting for? Be a part of it!!
